Welcome to Computational Biomedical Imaging Group
The computational biomedical imaging group (CBIG) at the University of Iowa pursues research on the development of new algorithms for the reconstruction and post-processing of medical and biological images. Active research areas include image reconstruction, image analysis and quantification. Research efforts are taking place at two complementary levels.
- the development of mathematical tools for imaging
- applied projects in collaboration with clinical researchers.
The main application areas include magnetic resonance imaging, near infrared spectroscopic imaging, and microscopy. The lab is directed by Prof. Mathews Jacob. The group enjoys the state of the art MRI facilities at MRRF, close collaborations with researchers at the Iowa Institute of Biomedical Imaging (IIBI), Iowa Neuroscience Insititute and clinical researchers at the School of Medicine.
